Kicker Rock, San Cristobal
DAY 1
13 Jun 2026
Time at Port: from 5:15 PM to 6:30 PM
Kicker Rock in San Cristobal is a breathtaking, iconic 148-meter-tall volcanic tuff cone remnant that rises from the ocean, with a 60-foot-deep passage between towering volcanic walls. It is a top Galapagos snorkelling and diving destination famed for vertical walls, fast sea currents, and sightings of hammerhead sharks, Galapagos sharks, eagle rays, and sea lions.
Things to do in Kicker Rock, San Cristobal:
Snorkeling & Diving
Explore the deep canal between the rock walls, which is frequently teeming with schooling hammerhead sharks, Galapagos sharks, sea turtles, eagle rays, and colourful tropical fish.
Wildlife Photography & Birdwatching
Capture photographs of the beautiful 140-meter-tall volcanic tuff cone, which is a nesting location for Blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, and Magnificent frigate birds.
Bartolome
DAY 2
14 Jun 2026
Time at Port: from 1:15 AM to 12 PM
Bartolome Island is home to the most iconic landscape in the Galapagos, featuring the famous spear-like Pinnacle Rock. A wooden boardwalk leads you on a hike through a "lunar" landscape of orange, red, and black volcanic cones and craters that make you feel like you are walking on another planet. After the hike, the golden beaches offer excellent snorkeling, where you have a high chance of swimming with Galapagos penguins, playful sea lions, and white-tipped reef sharks in the crystal-clear water.
Things to do in Bartolome:
Hike to the Summit
The hike to the summit of Bartolomé is a journey up a 360-step wooden boardwalk that winds through a stark, volcanic landscape. As you climb, you pass unique geological features like "hornitos" (lava ovens) and tuff cones that resemble a Martian terrain. Once you reach the top, you are rewarded with the most iconic viewpoint in the Galapagos a breathtaking panoramic vista of the spear like Pinnacle Rock, the golden beaches below, and the blue expanse of Sullivan Bay.
Explore the Lunar Landscape
Exploring the lunar landscape of Bartolomé is like stepping onto another planet. The island is a geologically young field of orange, red, and black volcanic formations, including "hornitos" (small lava cones) and hollow lava tubes. Because there is very little vegetation, you can clearly see the raw textures of the earth’s crust, making it one of the best places in the Galapagos to understand the archipelago’s volcanic origins while surrounded by a surreal, multicoloured desert.
Relax on the Golden Beaches
The golden beaches of Bartolomé offer a peaceful retreat at the foot of the island’s dramatic volcanic cliffs. These two crescent-shaped shores are separated by a thin strip of mangroves; the North Beach is a premier spot for swimming and sunbathing, while the South Beach is a protected nesting site where you can often see the tracks of green sea turtles in the sand. With their soft, honey coloured sand and calm turquoise waters, these beaches provide a stunning contrast to the island's rugged lava fields.
Buccaneer Cove, Santiago
DAY 2
14 Jun 2026
Time at Port: from 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM
Buccaneer Cove on Santiago Island, Galápagos, is a stunning coastline location famed for its dark red sand beaches. The cove is known for its magnificent, eroded tuff volcanic material created by wind and waves, which has resulted in caves and formations resembling a monk and an elephant.
Things to do in Buccaneer Cove, Santiago:
Wildlife Viewing
It offers up-close views of blue-footed boobies, fur seals, and colourful marine life in deep red, protected seas. Hundreds of birds, including blue-footed boobies, brown pelicans, and gulls, nest on the rugged volcanic tuff cliffs.
Water Activities
You cannot go ashore on this island; all activities are conducted from the water via boat. Explore the clean seas, which are ideal for seeing sea lions, fur seals, sharks, rays, and marine turtles. Galápagos sea lions are frequently spotted playing or sleeping on the rocky coastlines. Rare Galápagos fur seals can be discovered in shadowy caves and nooks.
Punta Vicente Roca, Isabela Island
DAY 3
15 Jun 2026
Time at Port: from 6:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Punta Vicente Roca is a spectacular site on the north west coast of Isabela Island, located right at the "mouth" of the seahorse-shaped island. Formed by the remains of an ancient volcano, the area features dramatic, towering cliffs that provide a sanctuary for nesting blue footed boobies, Nazca boobies, and flightless cormorants. Because the water is cooled by the deep Cromwell Current, it is one of the best spots in the Galapagos for a panga (dinghy) ride or snorkelling to see Pacific green sea turtles, sunfish (Mola mola), and Galapagos penguins in the clear, nutrient-rich bays.
Things to do in Punta Vicente Roca, Isabela Island:
Explore the Sea Caves
Exploring the sea caves at Punta Vicente Roca is a thrilling boat adventure into the heart of an ancient, collapsed volcano. Your panga (dinghy) will glide into deep, partially submerged caverns and turquoise grottos carved into the dramatic dark cliffs. Inside, the water glows with a brilliant light, and you can often spot Galapagos penguins and sea lions resting on hidden rocky ledges or green sea turtles swimming through the shadowy tunnels.
Snorkel with Sea Turtles
Snorkelling with Pacific green sea turtles at Punta Vicente Roca is an unforgettable experience, as the cold, nutrient rich waters attract dozens of these graceful creatures to the sheltered bay. Because the turtles are so focused on feeding and resting, you can often swim right alongside them as they glide through the water or nap on the rocky seafloor. The visibility is usually excellent, allowing you to see their intricate shell patterns and watch them surface for air just inches away from you.
Search for Mola Mola (Sunfish)
Searching for the Mola mola (Sunfish) at Punta Vicente Roca is a rare chance to see one of the world's strangest-looking fish. These massive, flat, silver giants can be over three metres long and often float near the surface. It is a major highlight because it’s one of the few places on Earth where you can consistently spot them in shallow water from a boat or while snorkelling.
Punta Espinoza, Fernandina - Overnight onboard
DAY 3-4
15 Jun 2026
Time at Port: from 2:30 PM to 4:30 AM
Our experts are preparing detailed information about this location. Please check back shortly to discover more.
Tagus Cove, Isabela Island
DAY 4
16 Jun 2026
Time at Port: from 5 AM to 11:30 AM
Tagus Cove is a sheltered bay located on the northwestern coast of Isabela Island, the largest island in the Galapagos. The area is surrounded by steep volcanic cliffs and unique plants that thrive in the dry environment. It is a popular stop for cruise ships because the deep, protected water provides a calm place to anchor. The landscape is mostly made of volcanic ash and offers a clear look at the island's geological history.
Things to do in Tagus Cove, Isabela Island:
Hike to Darwin Lake
A trail leads up the hillside to a viewpoint overlooking a saltwater lake sitting inside a volcanic crater. From the top of the ridge, you can see the wide lava fields and the blue water of the cove below.
Panga Ride Along the Shoreline
You can take a small boat along the cliffs to look for wildlife resting on the rocky ledges. This is one of the best spots to see Galapagos penguins and flightless cormorants up close.
Snorkel in the Clear Water
The deep, calm waters of the bay are perfect for swimming with sea turtles and sea lions. If you are lucky, you might even see a penguin or a marine iguana diving for food nearby.
Elizabeth Bay, Isabela Island
DAY 4
16 Jun 2026
Time at Port: from 3 PM to 7 PM
Elizabeth Bay is a secluded marine sanctuary on Isabela Island, accessible only by a small boat tour through its tranquil mangrove lagoons. The bay acts as a natural nursery, where you can see dozens of sea turtles and golden rays gliding through the clear, shallow water. It is also one of the best places in the Galapagos to spot the rare flightless cormorant and the world's largest colony of Galapagos penguins resting on the nearby Mariela Islets.
Things to do in Elizabeth Bay, Isabela Island:
Panga Ride Through Mangroves
A panga ride through the mangroves of Elizabeth Bay offers a peaceful exploration of a vital marine nursery. As your small boat glides through the quiet, red mangrove channels, you can peer into the clear, shallow water to see Pacific green sea turtles and golden rays resting among the roots. The tangled branches above are often filled with pelicans and herons, providing a serene, "jungle-like" experience where you can observe the delicate balance of the Galapagos ecosystem from just a few feet away.
Observe Flightless Cormorants
Observing flightless cormorants at Elizabeth Bay is a rare treat, as these birds are found only in the westernmost islands of the Galapagos. Because they have no land predators, they evolved to lose the ability to fly, resulting in tiny, stunted wings that they often hold out to dry in the sun. Watching them dive is spectacular; they are incredibly powerful swimmers that use their strong legs to chase fish deep underwater, perfectly showcasing how evolution adapts a species to its specific environment.
Penguin Watching
Penguin watching at Elizabeth Bay is a highlight of the Galapagos, as it hosts the archipelago's largest colony of these rare birds. Because the bay is fed by cold, nutrient-rich currents, you can see the Galapagos penguins nesting on the rocky Mariela Islets or "flying" through the clear water in search of fish. Viewing them from a small panga boat allows for an intimate, eye-level encounter with these charismatic animals in their natural, untouched habitat.
Champion Island
DAY 5
17 Jun 2026
Time at Port: from 12 AM to 3 PM
Champion Island is a small volcanic islet near Floreana, celebrated as one of the top snorkelling spots in the Galápagos. Its clear, protected waters are a playground for playful sea lions, sea turtles, and massive schools of colourful fish. On land, the island serves as a vital sanctuary for the critically endangered Charles Mockingbird, a rare species that can no longer be found on the larger nearby islands. Whether you're exploring the underwater reefs or birdwatching from a boat, Champion Island offers an incredible concentration of the archipelago’s most iconic wildlife.
Things to do in Champion Island:
Search for the Charles Mockingbird
Searching for the Charles Mockingbird at Champion Island is a must for bird enthusiasts, as this tiny volcanic islet is one of the last two places on Earth where the species survives. Since they are extinct on the mainland of Floreana, you must scan the island’s rugged cliffs and Prickly Pear cacti from the vantage point of a panga (dinghy). Spotting one of these critically endangered birds the very species that helped inspire Darwin’s thoughts on evolution, is a rare privilege that highlights the delicate and vital nature of Galápagos conservation.
World-Class Snorkelling
Champion Island offers world class snorkelling thanks to its crystal clear waters and vibrant underwater topography. As you drift along the shallow reef, you are immersed in a bustling marine metropolis filled with brilliant King Angelfish, schools of surgeonfish, and graceful Pacific Green Sea Turtles. The visibility is often so high that you can see deep into the crevices of the volcanic rock, where rays and white tip reef sharks frequently rest. Combined with the island's playful sea lions, the experience provides one of the most diverse and high definition looks at the Galápagos marine ecosystem.
Swim with Sea Lions
Swimming with the sea lions at Champion Island is a high energy highlight of the Galápagos, as the resident colony is famously curious and interactive. Once you're in the water, younger sea lions often zoom toward you to perform underwater acrobatics, blowing bubbles or spinning in circles as if inviting you to play. The exceptionally clear, shallow reef provides a perfect sunlit stage to watch these "puppies of the sea" glide effortlessly through the water. It is a joyful, close up encounter that perfectly captures the unique, fearless nature of the archipelago's wildlife.
Bahia Post Office, Floreana
DAY 5
17 Jun 2026
Time at Port: from 6:30 AM to 10:15 AM
Post Office Bay on Floreana Island is home to a famous wooden barrel used as a mailbox since 1793. Started by 18th-century whalers, the tradition continues today: travelers leave unstamped postcards in the barrel and pick up mail addressed to people near their own hometowns to hand-deliver them. It is one of the few places in the world where mail is still delivered entirely by the kindness of strangers.
Things to do in Bahia Post Office, Floreana:
Descend into a Lava Tube
Just a short walk from the historic post office barrel, you can descend into a lava tube, a natural underground tunnel formed by ancient volcanic flows. Using a sturdy wooden ladder, you drop down into a cool, dark cavern where the ceiling eventually opens up to the Sea of Cortez at its furthest end. It is a surreal experience to stand inside the hollowed-out earth, surrounded by smooth, dark basalt walls that showcase the raw volcanic power that built Floreana Island.
Snorkeling at the Beach
Snorkelling at Post Office Bay offers a chance to explore calm, shallow waters teeming with unique marine life. As you swim along the rocky edges of the bay, you are likely to encounter playful Galapagos sea lions, grazing green sea turtles, and various species of rays. If you are lucky, you might even spot a Galapagos penguin darting through the water. The visibility is usually excellent, making it a perfect spot to see bright tropical fish and reef sharks resting on the sandy bottom just a few meters from the shore.
Norwegian Ruins
The Norwegian ruins near Post Office Bay are the skeletal remains of a failed fish-canning factory and settlement established in 1924 by Norwegian immigrants. These pioneers sought to create a thriving commercial operation in the Galapagos, but their efforts were ultimately defeated by the island's harsh conditions, including a critical lack of fresh water and extreme isolation.
Cormorant Point, Floreana

Our experts are preparing detailed information about this location. Please check back shortly to discover more.
Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz
DAY 6
18 Jun 2026
Time at Port: from 12 AM to 10 PM
Puerto Ayora is the lively main hub of the Galápagos Islands. It’s a walkable coastal town where you’ll see marine iguanas on the pavement and sea lions lounging at the local fish market. From here, you can walk to the white sands of Tortuga Bay, visit giant tortoises at the Charles Darwin Research Station, or take a quick boat ride to snorkel in the clear waters of Las Grietas. It’s the perfect base for exploring the islands, filled with small cafes, shops, and adventure.
Things to do in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz:
Giant Tortoise
The giant tortoise reserves in the Santa Cruz highlands are a must-see, offering a rare chance to walk among these prehistoric giants in their natural, misty habitat. Most visits also include a walk through massive, naturally formed lava tunnels located right on the property. It’s a muddy, magical experience where you can witness the quiet, slow-motion life of the islands' most iconic residents up close.
Charles Darwin Research Station
The Charles Darwin Research Station is a cornerstone of Galápagos conservation, where science and education meet to protect the archipelago's fragile ecosystems. Walking through its trails, you can witness the incredible recovery of giant tortoise populations, from tiny, vulnerable hatchlings to massive adults ready for release. It’s a place that honours the legacy of Lonesome George while actively working to ensure that the "Enchanted Isles" remain a living laboratory for generations to come.
Puerto Ayora Fish Market
The Puerto Ayora Fish Market is a lively, open-air spectacle where the daily catch meets the local wildlife. As fishermen clean fresh tuna and lobster along the waterfront, they are famously crowded by bold sea lions and patient pelicans hoping for a stray scrap. It’s one of the few places on earth where you can stand inches away from wild animals as they integrated themselves into the town’s morning routine, making it a perfect spot for photography and a true taste of Galápagos life.
Santa Cruz Island
DAY 6
18 Jun 2026
Time at Port: from 5 AM to 5 AM
Santa Cruz Island is the busy, central core of the Galapagos Archipelago, providing an ideal balance of accessible wildlife, magnificent white-sand beaches, and urban comfort. The most populous island, with the town of Puerto Ayora, serves as the principal hub for land-based travellers, with hotels, restaurants, and easy access to day tours.
Things to do in Santa Cruz Island:
Charles Darwin Research Station
The Charles Darwin Research Station (CDRS) in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island, is a fascinating educational destination where visitors can observe giant tortoise breeding programs, learn about Galapagos conservation, and explore arid, cactus-filled grounds. It serves as a working scientific center, providing visitors with a look into tortoise rehabilitation, history (Lonesome George), and indigenous animals.
Tortuga Bay
Tortuga Bay is a magnificent, pure white-sand beach famed for its turquoise seas, dense population of marine iguanas, and nesting sea turtles. It provides a tranquil natural setting with two main areas: a rugged beach for surfing (Playa Brava) and a peaceful, sheltered cove ideal for swimming and kayaking (Playa Mansa). The beach is accessible via a 2.5-kilometer (about 45-minute) paved route from Puerto Ayora. You must check in at a checkpoint, and the path is frequently hiked in the early morning. It is a protected spot with no services, so bring water, food, and sunscreen.
Highlands Tortoise Reserves
El Chato Tortoise Reserve in the Santa Cruz highlands is a 12-hectare private reserve teeming with enormous Galapagos tortoises that walk freely. It provides a personal, self-guided experience of strolling among wild tortoises, exploring natural lava tunnels, and viewing highland bird species such as Darwin's finches.
Cerro Dragon, Santa Cruz
DAY 7
19 Jun 2026
Time at Port: from 6:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Cerro Dragon, or Dragon Hill, is located on the northwestern coast of Santa Cruz Island. It is a significant conservation site known for its population of Galapagos land iguanas, which were reintroduced here to help the species thrive. The landscape features a mix of volcanic rocks, tall prickly pear cacti, and a shallow saltwater lagoon.
Things to do in Cerro Dragon, Santa Cruz:
Spot Galapagos Land Iguanas
The hiking trail leads you directly through the nesting grounds where these large, yellow-orange reptiles are often seen resting. You can watch them foraging for food under the shade of the giant cacti that grow along the path.
Observe Flamingos at the Lagoon
A shallow lagoon near the shore is a popular feeding spot for bright pink American flamingos and other shorebirds. Depending on the season, you can watch them wading through the still water in search of small shrimp.
Hike to the Viewpoint
The trail climbs a small hill that provides a panoramic view of the bay and the surrounding islands. From the top, you can see the contrast between the rocky shoreline and the lush vegetation of the Santa Cruz highlands.
Guy Fawkes Island
DAY 7
19 Jun 2026
Time at Port: from 1 PM to 2:30 PM
Guy Fawkes Island, also known as Isla Guy Fawkes, is a small, uninhabited group of two crescent shaped islets and two rocks located northwest of Santa Cruz Island in the Galápagos Archipelago. Named after the infamous English revolutionary Guy Fawkes, these volcanic tuff formations are renowned primarily as a premier diving and snorkelling destination. While visitors are not permitted to land on the islands themselves, the surrounding waters teem with life, including playful sea lions, white tip reef sharks, and a kaleidoscope of colourful zoanthids and tropical fish. The mysterious origin of the name remains a topic of local lore; some suggest it was coined by whalers who compared the island's volcanic eruptions to the "fireworks" associated with Fawkes's failed plot to blow up the British Parliament.
